This year, we had the opportunity to sponsor the Pig Run for the first time, and we are delighted to have been part of this special event. Despite the rainy weather, more than 700 participants took to the starting line. The positive atmosphere, the great dedication, and the high motivation of everyone involved impressively demonstrated the significance of the Schweinelauf in the region. For many years, the Schweinelauf has stood for community, solidarity, and social engagement. Together with the Lions Club, numerous volunteers, sponsors, and supporters, we once again organized an event that brings people together while supporting important social projects. We are particularly pleased with the outcome of the event: a total of around 20,000 euros was raised for social institutions and projects in the region. Among those benefiting from this support are the Wülfrath Food Bank, the Youth Red Cross, the WIR-Haus, the DRK Farbenfroh Kindergarten, and the Lions Hilfswerk Mettmann-Wülfrath. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the organizers, volunteers, runners, and spectators who contributed to the success of the 19th Schweinelauf. We are proud to have supported this event and are already looking forward to next year’s anniversary edition—the 20th Schweinelauf.

The instructor from the German Red Cross led the session with great expertise and a practical approach. 🩺 Practical, informative, and hands-on Important first aid procedures were reviewed and practiced hands-on—from the recovery position to CPR and the proper response in emergency situations. The focus was not only on theory but, above all, on active participation and the confident application of these procedures.
