This year is the big one. We are celebrating a special anniversary: for 20 years, Kartheuser Immobilien has been your reliable partner for all real estate matters in the Velbert, Mettmann, Ratingen, Düsseldorf, and beyond. What began in 2005 in Velbert at Friedrichstraße 97 in just one room has developed into an established company with three locations and an annual real estate volume of around 30 million euros.
From the beginnings to today
When Wolfgang and Tim Kartheuser founded their real estate company in Velbert in 2005, they laid the foundation for a success story that continues to this day. From the very beginning, the focus has been on personal advice, networking, and the individual needs of customers. "You decide what we can do for you..." – this customer promise continues to shape our corporate philosophy to this day.
The same applies to Wolfgang Kartheuser's management style, which is characterized by "a great deal of humanity." He wanted to build a "strong team—a team that everyone enjoys playing in." The company's current senior partner describes himself as a "young old man who has a lot of fun and enjoys brokering." His greatest passion is networking.
Kartheuser Immobilien's first digital presence was documented in February 2007. With the slogan at the time, "The partner at your side – competent and reliable!" and the characteristic yellow and blue color scheme with the distinctive "K" logo, the company's online history began, which continues to evolve today.
Expansion in the region
Following the successful launch in Velbert, the company expanded into the region. An important milestone in 2015 was the opening of the Ratingen office together with Barry Reuter, which significantly strengthened the company's presence in the region. Two years ago, the branch in Mettmann was added. It is worth noting that all three offices are located in listed buildings. Kartheuser Immobilien now has a presence for its customers at three strategic locations.
This regional presence enables us to have a particularly good understanding of the local real estate markets and to provide our customers with the best possible advice —whether in Velbert, Ratingen, or Mettmann.
Growth and modernization
In the years following its founding, the company expanded continuously. The team grew, the range of services was expanded, and the company's presence in the region was consolidated. A strong network and a loyal customer base were established – cornerstones that remain to this day.
In 2015, Wolfgang and Tim Kartheuser introduced the new slogan "Real estate agents. People." This concise phrase summed up the company's philosophy. The duality of the business – on the one hand, real estate as physical objects, and on the other, the people behind them with their stories – became a central element of the brand identity.
Growth continued from 2016 to 2019. Kartheuser Immobilien positioned itself more strongly as a universal broker for residential and commercial real estate and established an affiliated appraisal office to expand its range of services.
Training – investing in the future
We are proud to be a recognized training company and want to inspire young people in particular to enter the world of real estate and pursue the challenging career of real estate agent. For us, training young talent is not only an investment in the future of the industry, but also in the future of our company.
We are particularly pleased that Marcus Breuer, our very first trainee, still works for the company today. This continuity is proof of our long-term personnel policy and the family atmosphere that prevails at Kartheuser Immobilien. We attach great importance not only to imparting specialist knowledge, but also to passing on our corporate philosophy and values.
Training at Kartheuser Immobilien is practical and varied. Our trainees pass through all departments, learning about the real estate business from the ground up. They are accompanied by experienced colleagues and can apply their knowledge directly in practice. Many of our current employees started their careers as trainees with us – a model of success of which we are particularly proud.
The generational change and the digital world
A significant milestone in the company's history was the generational change in March 2020. Wolfgang Kartheuser stepped down as managing director and took on the position of "senior" in the company, while Tim Kartheuser became sole managing director. This change represented continuity despite change: Wolfgang Kartheuser remained with the company, contributing his experience and network, while modernization efforts were driven forward.
The years 2021 and 2022 were marked by adaptation to new market conditions and the further professionalization of services. This included the renovation and redesign of our Velbert office. The expansion of digital competencies has been and continues to be steadily advanced. The complete switch to the cloud and the optimization of all business processes through digital solutions have greatly increased our efficiency without losing personal contact with our customers.
Today, we work entirely cloud-based with modern technologies. Tim Kartheuser describes the advantages: "We have full synchronisation with the email program and the calendar. Our employees can access the real estate CRM anywhere and anytime, which enables us to provide flexible and fast support to our customers."
This digital way of working is a key success factor for our company. It enables us to optimize processes, shorten response times, and at the same time have more time for personal consultation with our customers.
